The reason behind the name….

You might be wondering why I’ve chosen “The Wholistic Midwife” as the name for this business (then again you might not!! haha!!)

Well, it took me a while to find the right fit. Much like when you are looking for baby names, it can take a bit of time to find one you like! I wanted it to be unique, something that is true to who I am. Obviously, I am a Midwife so that definitely had to be in there somewhere! But Wholistic took a little while to put together.

I am a spiritual person, I don’t attend a church, or worship a particular god, but I do believe in spirit guides (or angels if you prefer). I’m spiritual in the kind of way that I believe we all have a soul, an energy. A soul that deserves to be nurtured and cherished. I believe that if our energy is not balanced then this can manifest into us being physically and/or mentally unwell. I love reiki, tarot, runes and I’m a real sucker for a pretty crystal.

Anyway, I digress, I chose Wholistic because holistic describes the joining up of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. With the addition of the W at the beginning to emphasise ‘whole’ and ‘wellness’ as this is SO IMPORTANT to me.

Resulting in the start of 'The Wholistic Midwife’ the beginnings of my dream and wish to bring together a village and community of women, babies, partners, birth partners and their families.
